The SpLD team at 301 Glossop Road are known for providing SpLD tutorials for students, but did you know that we also provide SpLD tutorials to staff with an SpLD?
Feeling like you're drowning in emails? Presentations have got your palms sweaty?? We've got your back. The sessions are confidential between you and your tutor and are offered online or face to face. The sessions are half an hour long, so will fit into your work schedule.
Whilst we can’t provide workplace recommendations or assessment, the sessions are personalised to your role and goals. You and your tutor will work together to develop strategies and creative solutions that are tailored to you. Examples of areas that you might want to work on include:
- procrastination
- workload organisation,
- email writing,
- presentation delivery,
- time management
- managing emails
- project management, and more!
This is a friendly space for you to identify things you want to work on to improve your work life. We don’t don’t have a magic wand, but we can help you to find a way forward. For example, we can help with time management and prioritisation, whilst recognising that we can’t reduce your workload!

If you think you may have an SpLD, the screener Quickscan is available. It takes about 20 minutes and can highlight indicators of dyslexia - Pico Educational Systems Ltd. If you would like to access the tutorials, the first step is to talk to your manager. Your manager can access funding from the central reasonable adjustment budget for up to five half hour sessions with an SpLD tutor. If you would like to learn more, check out our staff webpage: Staff dyslexia and SpLD support.
There may be a wait for tutorials during busy periods, such as semester times.
